Dudeness

HI! It's me, A! *obnoxious giggle* Rafting was awesome, even if it DID rain and was cold. I got a little "down in the dumps" when we crossed the lake because I was FREEZING - which took me by surprise. It was really windy, but I stuck it out (under an umbrella and a tarp of course)and we made it back alive!
The river (for me) was the funnest part. I liked being rocked up and down and splashed and looking over the edge of the wave as it came and then -BAM - water. It was cool. :) We talked about a lot of stuff. Mr Brown (K's family friend) came along and he was really cool and nice. We made it to the lake and played games with him around a roaring fire. We taught him Mafia, Murder, and the Animal game.
(back to the river) We shored and met a funny dog named Maggie. (Mr. Brown was fishing and Maggie came over to play). We would throw the ball and she'd go get it. And we'd throw it. And throw it. And throw it. And throw it. :) Dude. She never tired out. But she was sweet and friendly.
THEN - back to the lake. We got all camped up and me and K went for a walk. Cool right? Anyways, we went by the mouth of the river we had just came out of and were looking out over the lake. Across the river I saw a big, golden lump in the reeds. We had passed by some other campers so I assumed it was their golden retriever. It disappeared into the grass before I could clarify my accusation.
We walked some more, I pulled out my camera and was taking pictures. Then I turned to K and saw something moving over her shoulder.
"Oh. THAT's what that golden thing was," I said, cocking my head and looking at a grizzly across the river.
Dude. COOLIO!
It was a golden grizzly, walking along the bank. Now, by this time, we were thinking: WWSD?
We thought about that for a minute before deciding to push Sarah out of our minds. I mean, she's not here, right?
So we waded across the river and got as close as we could to it. I took pictures and K took some food from her pocket and approached the gentle beast -
Naw! Just kidding. Dude. If you're S right now, I really want to see your face.
No - we're not THAT stupid! K took off running to get the others so they could see, I DID take pictures (a safe distance away - on the other side of the river). It walked away, then turned, and walked back along the bank and finally into the lake itself. Mr. K and Mr. Brown had arrived and were admiring it with us. It ate fish carcasses in the lake and had a grand time.
We eventually went back to camp, ate dinner (YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY can't-stress-it-enough- YUMMY spaghetti.) then the bear disappeared. Bye bye bear!
Anywaysss..We went to bed (I had the weirdest string of dreams)and then woke up. Ladeedaadee
We had left the motor-hooker-on-er at home so we rowed the whole lake. It took like...hmm...3 hours, maybe? And 8 mile row. It got REALLY windy and cold and I froze, but I recovered. (we blamed Indigo and Brook, cause they we're there - they were mad)
FINALLY we made it back and I fell asleep to The Dark Knight music (awesome) and got home! YAY!
It was a blast, I'd do it again, my pants got soaked, so did my socks. We saw a bear, we had some fun, we played lots of games, and drank some rum. I didn't row, I got wet, waves are fun, dude, I'd bet. hehe. We saw like...2373853498 eagles and some ADORABLE little baby, waby, itty, bitty (insert Trigger's "itty bitty pica" sound effect here) birdies!! They were SO CUTE!
Anyways, I'm packing (cough, not, cough) for SALT tomorrow. It's late...again. 12:35. I'm nearly done.
New realization: I found that packing calms me. I love packing. I realized that while packing. Weird, huh? I don't know. I'm not stressed while packing. I like doing it. huh. Interesting.

Well, yup. THat's it. SALT tomorrow - yippeee! Dude, so excited. It'll be awesome.

I'll see you in a weeeeeekk!!

-A
