mmmmmmmmmm - Saturday! Yummy! Last night was a late night for me....later than usual, that is. I slept in 'till 12 and then booked it over to my friend's house. They're visiting from Italy. Anyways, the boys were gone (camping) so I went with Glori and her mom to the Saturday Market. I didn't buy anything, but I DID pay some guys who was playing the guitar. I thought he was really, really, good and I've always wanted to put money in someone's guitar case, so I did. It didn't hurt that he was cute, either.
haha. Just Kidding. Well, not about him being cute. He was. - but that's not why I did it. :P
Annnnnnyyyways, it started to rain (RAIN!) and then we went to Great Harvest for Bread samples, Freddies, and then to my mom's store. Then we (Glori and I) went over to my house and played Beatles Rock Band until my mom came home.
-I'm Jean ValJean!!! - Sorry. Listening to -
2460 oooonnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
-Les Mis. Hehe. Oh gosh. I love it. Anyways, then my mom came home and Glori and her went driving (Glori's license test is on Monday), so me and Em watched Friends. :)
Then I met Glori and Kelsey at APU to watch "Back to the Accusing Parlor" - a play that KT is in. It was...interesting. But good. Hmm. I won't explain it.
THEN we went and had Icecream and then back to Glori's house that she's staying at. No one was home and the doors were locked.
But do locked doors stop AMANDA?! NO!
I broke in. hehe.
I opened the living room window and crawled (well...more like scrambled) in. It was high. *sigh* My life - seriously - is complete. I feel....like I've accomplished something meaningful. I can't describe it. I've ALWAYS wanted to do that. And I did.
:)
So yeah. That's pretty much it. :) I feel...good. :) I like smilies. :)
hehe. Yeah. I hope you all get to crawl through a window in your lifetimes. It's very satisfying.

Today
Today is the 20th, as you can see at the head of this post. I leave for Colorado tonight at midnight. It should be fun I haven't seen that side of the family for years. Everyone's going to be so grown up! Well, there's not much to say. MAS went to Tacu Lake last night for the youth group BBQ. That was pretty fun. Today I have a piano lesson and I have to finish packing... how does one do that? Packing for a trip that's more than two weeks is impossible for me, and I don't know why! Have I ever mentioned that I love airplanes? Personally, the smaller the better. I don't know what it is, but the thought of possible turbulence and cruising above clouds excites me. Hm... there was something else I was going to say, but it seems to have escaped my mind. Ok, well, I'll try and put some pictures up, but I'm not even sure I'll be able to use a computer. Oh dear.

Update on K
Heeellllo! Haha. Hyllo, my name is Helga. Just kidding. Annyway...
Hi guys :) I am doing pretty good so far. It's pretty much been a very quiet trip and I have been hanging out with lots of old people. This is the life.
It's a little duller than I was hoping to be honest, but I think it will pick up once we head off camping and kayaking, which still isn't for a few days. I met Delane's special friend last night and we played Monopoly until almost midnight, so that was fun...Erik's cabin is nice, more like a summer house than a cabin. We floated the Yakima river twice in two days, the first time I went with my dad so I really didn't have to do anything, but then the second time my dad and Erik didn't come so it was Kendra and Grandma Nan in one boat and me and Brad is another. In case you didn't know, Brad is my cousin and he is deaf so the communication between us kind of stunk and we hit lots of trees :P but oh well. Still a beautiful river. I am not getting tan because I am paranoid about getting burned so I'm like bathing in sunscreen and then not tanning. Ick. I will try to lay off it next time it's sunny, which is definitley not today.
Washington is so beautiful! Living in Alaska I really forget what it is like down here, then every year I come and it is just breathtakingly beautiful. The trees are so big! They have really great trees here, way nicer than ours. It's very Armasia :) Delane is working, my parents went to put my Grandma's cat in the shelter (the only nice one, might I add) and so I am left here alone with the grandparents and I'm missing everyone a lot!
That's all :) More later, Bye!

Oh yeah! And I got my camera back! It was a very touching reunion.

Time Flies

I have recently been forced to realize that we only have about a month of summer left. Lame! I am not happy about this, especially since swimming and other activities start before that. *sigh*...life kinda stinks sometime.
But my Summer is going superbly fantabulous! So that's good...anyway, as M said (in a strance funky style that I'm guessing she got from Blue Like Jazz) we went to the sand dunes and it was, as Tony woudl say, GRRRRREAT! And then we watched Phantom of the Opera (always a win) and Napoleon Dynamite. Oh how I truly love that movie. The pure genius put into it is just...mind numbing. Yes, it's mind numbing geniusness.
So I leave in a couple days to go on a nice long trip, I'll post while I'm gone. I am very excited about it :) I am currently reading "Specials" by Scott Westerfield and I have been listening to lots of Hawk Nelson. Just some K updates for ya. I went to the doctor and the orthodontist today, and I am pretty healthy. My spine is straight, so that's good.
Anyway, I'm leaving now.

SALT 7/8/10 10:05 Reflection
The highest became the least. We are not the highest. If anything, we are the least and since the highest is no longer physically among us, we must wash the least of the least, which is ourselves... The people I spent two weeks with are loving and glorifying to God. My faith has grown and my feet have been washed by them. They have served me and I have served them. We have served together. This has been life changing. FedEx and Dimples washed our feet tonight. Love was shared, tears were shed. Smiles shone as our counselors told us what set us apart from others and asked God to protect us as we go home tomorrow. Love is what I feel, peace surrounds me, sorrow is a happy one. Grief is only for the grievers, and as we hate to go, we knew it would come, we fight sadness with God's peace and the hope of someday seeing eachother again. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit sisters,
Amen.
I wrote this in a time of reflection on the last night of SALT.

Rain
It rained today. Yesterday was drop-dead gorgeous so we went to the sand dunes. We spent the night watching movies and sleeping at my house. It rained today. All day long it rained. A slight drizzle then it turned more serious, then back to drizzling. And now, while I read "Blue Like Jazz" by Donald Miller I look out my bedroom window and am met by profound stillness. It's still raining, but the trees are silent. No branches bend, no twigs snap, the leaves are not applauding. There's something strange about the human race. We always have to be moving. A TV always has to be buzzing, there's always food to be cooking, conversations are always being said. Why can't we be like the trees? Why can't we take a break from stirring and just be still? I'd love to just curl up with my book and float in the silence, but my dad is watching the news and my mom is talking on the phone while making dinner. I feel the need to be still.
